A Sizzlin’ Summah

As usual, this season of Kauwela at our loko i’a was hectic/crazy/busy/bustling/all of the above but hella fun. Its not over yet, but atleast we can reflect a bit on whats happened on site in the past 2 months of June and July. We hosted several recurring summer programs for 5-6 weeks, held our 8-week highschool internship, hosted nearly 50 half-day field trips, built over 100 feet of fishpond wall, removed who-knows-how-many square feet of mangrove and hau bush, hosted 2 weeks of Hawaii Youth Conservation Corps, held four Lā Holoholo events (yeilding 50+ predator fish removed), and celebrated some of our lowest tides of the year with early morning restoration sessions. Heres a few pictures to paint the picture of some awesome people contributing to this awesome place.
