Lonoikamakahiki! 2013 is well underway and Paepae o He`eia is kicking off another calendar year with our Spring Community Workdays.
Join us in the restoration efforts at He`eia Fishpond on the 2nd and 4th Saturdays of each month until summer. Workdays begin promptly at 8:30am and end at 12pm with lunch to follow. The work normally includes but is not limited to the removal invasive mangrove removal, bucketing/shoveling rocks and coral, pushing barges of rock and coral thru the fishpond, spreading out the rocks and coral on the wall, or invasive limu removal. Please come prepared with covered shoes or tabis, a hat, sunscreen, water and a water bottle, and maybe a towel and change of clothes.
In exchange for your hard work, Paepae o He`eia is happy to feed everyone lunch between 12 and 12:30pm. So stick around and talk story a little bit. The dates of our upcoming workdays are as follows:
- January 26th
- February 9th and 23rd
- March 9th and 23rd
- April 13th and 27th
- May 11th and 25th
Please Please PLEASE RSVP to hold your spot at one of our workdays. They always fill up and we sometimes close them if they get too big. Mahalo for your cooperation and participation.
