Now Hiring: Invasive Seaweed Removal Team

We are currently hiring for our Heʻeia Fishpond Invasive Seaweed Removal Project. The purpose of the project is to make a significant dent in the invasive seaweed that has been choking Heʻeia Fishpond for over twenty years. The three main invasive seaweed species are Gorilla Ogo (Gracilaria salicornia), Spiny seaweed (Acatophera spicifera) and Smothering seaweed (Kappaphycus). This is a part of larger multi-year project to generally improve the aquatic fishpond environment through invasive removal and native replanting.

The removal project will begin in June and end in October 2019.

  • We are currently looking to hire 3 more Technicians to round out the team.
